EF Recovery and Taiga Compliance Announce New Partnership

Agreement will bring simplified personnel exclusion list screening to first responders across the country

GIG HARBOR, WA – EF Recovery, LLC (EFRecovery.com) and Taiga Compliance, LLC (TaigaHealth.com) have reached an agreement to bring the powerful Taiga Check™ exclusion screening service to first responders nationwide.

If they participate in Medicare or Medicaid programs, fire departments and other first responders are required to validate that their employees, officers and board members are not excluded, debarred or suspended from participation in government programs. This check, which should be done monthly as CMS updates its own list, can be challenging given the number of federal and state databases that must be reviewed. Using Taiga Compliance’s “Taiga Check” service, that process is greatly simplified.

“We are thrilled to partner with Taiga Compliance,” said Steven Kaufman, CEO of EF Recovery. “It is critical that participating Medicare and Medicaid providers make sure their employees are in good standing. Because we bill on behalf of fire departments and ambulance companies, we are constantly looking for new services that will help them stay focused on their important mission. The partnership with Taiga is just such a service.”

Participants in the Taiga/EF Recovery program can upload a list of their employees, officers and board members after which the names are checked against excluded individuals lists from organizations such as the OIG, the Office of Medicaid Inspector General, the System for Awards Management, and the Office of Foreign Asset Control. Participants quickly see results from their search, and the entire process takes place in a highly secure, HIPAA-compliant, fully secure web environment.

“Partnering with EF Recovery continues our strategic mission of expanding Taiga Check,” said Scott Bowman, Partner of Taiga Compliance. “This service, available in all 50 states, greatly simplifies the process of sanction and exclusion testing. With EF Recovery, we can bring this service to first responders, a majority of which serve Medicare and Medicaid patients.”

The service went live in mid-July 2018 and is open to all first responders. Interested parties are urged to contact EF Recovery to sign up.
